Trail updates
Take care! There has been a washout on the Hill’s Homestead trail which removed part of the road (and ski area). The club has marked off this area with a high-visibility fence but take care in skiing downhill in this area.
Logging trucks. There is logging going on in the Kane Valley area and logging trucks are using Kane Valley Road through the ski trail area. Drive with care, especially on corners.
Been skiing in the past day or so? Leave us a comment about which route you used, what the trail was like, and anything that needs attention. You can also leave (or respond to) questions on the Kane Valley Trails or about local weather.
We’ll also use these posts to tell you what’s been groomed, what is scheduled to be groomed, and anything else club members and trail users should know about. Our trails are not suitable for skate-skiing.

Beautiful ski today from P1. We zigzagged up and down the north side trails to P5, out and back on Aspen, up to Hills and out on Matthews. Excellent snow virtually everywhere (a bit crusty on the south-facing slopes: Overeasy, Tolko and Hills), sun and dramatic clouds, evidence of others but saw no one. Well worth the drive from the coast!
Skied Vale up to lunch box down Raven to p1 Mathews loop back to p3. Excellent conditions. Sun was out and -5 and the trails were nicely groomed
There is 4 inches of new snow and conditions are fabulous. Skied up to lunch box yesterday and then went out again for a sunset ski to Berthas. Temperature high was -1.
Today is expected to reach high of -4.
Groomers will be out again today. The plan is to groom Hills and all the main runs. Thanks to our awesome groomers for their work, the trails are wide, the tracks are set and they are doing a wonderful job!
Spring skiing at its best!!!
Our experience is that the best skiing is before it warms up during the day for this time of year. We are making up for our late start to the season with this extended snow now!
Come out and play!
PS the snowshoe trails are being well used too, thanks to the efforts of the Nicola Explorers to keep these trails open and well marked!
